CalTech Prof. Anima Anandkumar to headline NACD Directors Summit

The National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) recently announced that California Institute of Technology (CalTech) Professor and leading scientist in machine learning, Anima Anandkumar, will be headlining the NACD Directors Summit.

Organized from Oct. 13 to 15, just outside Washington DC, the summit will feature more than 1,600 participants, representing more than 500 boards, discussing board–CEO dynamics, cybersecurity, technological innovation and long-term value creation.

Along with Anandkumar, five other CEOs would be headlining the summit and will lead mainstage sessions during the summit.

AI expert Anandkumar will speak at the Oct. 14 session, titled, 'Bridging the Digital and Physical Worlds with AI'.

Anandkumar, who received her B.Tech from IIT Madras, and then moved to the US for a Ph.D. from Cornell University and postdoctoral research at MIT, attributes her scientific achievements to her family and the way she grew up in India, in a big way.

Peter Gleason, president and CEO of NACD outlined what NACD seeks to achieve with the summit and said, "As governance challenges intensify — especially around CEO–board alignment, emerging risk and technological disruption — clear guidance matters more than ever."

He added, "NACD Summit 2025 brings together world-class practitioners and thinkers to help boards lead with impact, resilience and insight. I look forward to seeing so many of our members in October and encourage those not yet registered to not wait until the last minute to join us."
