Indian man faces visa struggle after false arrest in U.S.
October 2025 2 views 1:19An Indian national living in the U.S. was detained for nearly a month after Arkansas police mistook a branded perfume bottle labeled “Opium” for an illegal narcotic.
32-year-old Kapil Raghu was pulled over for a minor traffic violation in Benton, Arkansas, and later transferred to ICE custody despite lab tests confirming the substance was perfume — not a drug.
His work visa was revoked, leaving him vulnerable to deportation, as his wife alleges racial profiling and violation of rights.
The Department of Homeland Security has not commented on the incident
