Who Is "Jersey City's Zohran Mamdani" Running for Mayor?

November 2025 222 views 4:03

Tomorrow, New York will not be the only city electing its new mayor. Right across the shore is Jersey City, also gearing up for the elections. Another young South Asian candidate is redefining what local politics can look like. In this exclusive interview, Mussab Ali, the 28-year-old, talks about his inspiration from New York Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, his bold plans for affordable housing and public transit, and why refusing money from city contractors sets his campaign apart.

A new poll finds James Solomon, a city councilor, leading in the race for the city's mayor, with early voting over. The poll shows Solomon at 24%, followed by former NJ governor Jim McGreevey, at 22%, and Mussab Ali at a distant 10%. Jersey City now eagerly awaits 4 results.
