Diwali at Times Square Celebrates 10 Years in 2025

September 2025 358 views 1:49

Diwali at Times Square is returning on October 12, 2025, marking its 10th anniversary as one of New York City’s premier South Asian celebrations. The milestone edition will feature a daylong festival with a Diwali Bazaar, Kids Zone with diya painting and Rangoli art, sponsor showcases, and cultural performances under the “Colors of India” segment.

The celebrations will culminate with a grand diya-lighting ceremony and the Light Up Times Square Concert, featuring legendary Punjabi singer Malkit Singh, Grammy-nominated rapper Raja Kumari, Indian Idol 2023 winner Rishi Singh, and 2024 finalist Anjana Padmanabhan.

This year’s festival also expands globally, with partner events in San Francisco and Toronto, emphasizing the universal message of love, peace, harmony, and togetherness. Organized by the Consulate General of India in New York and festival founder Neeta Bhasin, the event honors Indian heritage and the contributions of Indian Americans in philanthropy, medicine, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
