Priya Talreja of Fremont has been selected as one of five recipients of the 2025 Fulbright-National Geographic Award, announced Aug.26 by the National Geographic Society and the Fulbright Program in Washington, D.C.
Talreja, an environmental policy researcher and urban planner, will carry out her project in the Azores, Portugal. She plans to develop a geospatial mapping tool to identify optimal locations for electric vehicle charging stations. The initiative adapts strategies used in California to the Azorean context, where the government has committed to carbon neutrality by 2050.
