Indian-origin Dharma Alliance Advisory Board Member Prof. Jaya Krishnakumar will deliver the keynote address at the closing plenary of the Global Refugee Forum Progress Review 2025 in Geneva on Dec. 17.
She will be representing the Geneva based organization under invitation from The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Prof. Krishnakumar is a full professor of Econometrics at the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She is also a Visiting Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore and Madras School of Economics, Chennai, India. Her research interests include panel data econometrics, multivariate models with latent variables and quantitative methods for multi-dimensional well-being analysis.
The Global Refugee Forum Progress Review, scheduled from Dec. 15-17, seeks to take stock of the efforts at the country, regional, and global levels to fulfil the pledges made at the Global Refugee Forum (GRF) towards the advancement of the Global Compact on Refugees (GCR) and also outline next steps in the lead up to the GRF in 2027.
The event seeks to increase support for refugees and the countries that host them. It will help carry out the promises made at past Global Refugee Forums by bringing together many partners. It will also focus attention and resources on the areas that need the most help.
