A 25-year-old Indian student from Telangana was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Leicester on June 23, with UK police investigating the cause of his death.
Srinath Reddy Savusani, a native of Talamadla village in Rajampet mandal of Kamareddy district, had been living in the United Kingdom for the past 14 months while pursuing a master's degree at De Montfort University in Leicester. His family in India was informed of his death on June 25.

Following the tragedy, Savusani's cousins, Sanoj Jangam and Manish, launched a GoFundMe campaign titled Honouring Srinath's Memory: Support His Family to help repatriate his remains to India. At the time of publication, the fundraiser had raised more than £14,600 from over 820 donors, exceeding its £14,000 goal.
According to his family, Savusani had spoken to them on the evening of June 22 before leaving to attend a friend's birthday celebration. His father, Madhusudan Reddy, said Srinath was found dead by his roommate the following morning. The cause of death has not been officially confirmed, and UK authorities are continuing their investigation.
On the campaign page, the family described Savusani as the only son of a farming family from Telangana. They said his parents had taken an education loan and borrowed money from relatives to support his studies abroad.
"He carried not only his own ambitions but also the hopes and aspirations of his entire family," his cousins wrote, adding that the funds would cover the cost of transporting his remains to India so his family could perform his last rites.
The family said Srinath had travelled to the United Kingdom with hopes of completing his master's degree and building a better future for his family. In the fundraiser, his cousins wrote that his parents had made significant financial sacrifices to support his education abroad, including taking an education loan and borrowing from relatives. They said the campaign aims to ease the financial burden of repatriating his remains to India so his family can perform his last rites.
Madhusudan Reddy said the family is awaiting the outcome of the official police investigation before drawing conclusions about the circumstances surrounding his son's death. He has also appealed to the Government of India and the Telangana government to facilitate the early repatriation of Srinath's remains.
