U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio described India as “one of the top relationships the United States has in the world today” and “at the core” of the Indo-Pacific, urging Senators to confirm Sergio Gor as Washington’s next Ambassador to New Delhi.
Appearing before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Secretary Rubio framed India as indispensable to America’s future strategy. “The 21st century, the story is going to be written in the Indo-Pacific,” he declared. “India is at the core of that, and we are in a period of extraordinary transition in that relationship with India”.
