Indian-American Congressman Ro Khanna is set to join Wisconsin state Rep. Francesca Hong at a campaign rally in Madison on June 14, adding a nationally recognized Democratic voice to an event aimed at energizing progressive voters ahead of the state's gubernatorial race.

The "We Make Better Possible" rally will take place at Atwood Music Hall and is being promoted as a grassroots gathering centered on affordability, support for working families, public education, and healthcare access.

Khanna, who represents California's 17th Congressional District, is among several speakers scheduled to appear at the event. Other participants include Madison Alder Sabrina Madison, Illinois congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh, and author and activist Qasim Rashid.

Hong's campaign says the rally will highlight policy priorities including universal childcare, paid family leave, fully funded public schools, and affordable healthcare. The campaign has also emphasized its refusal to accept corporate PAC contributions.

Khanna's appearance comes as the Indian-American lawmaker continues to expand his national profile through appearances at political rallies and public events focused on economic inequality, worker rights, and government reform.

First elected to Congress in 2016, Khanna has emerged as one of the most prominent Indian-American voices in national politics. He has frequently aligned himself with progressive economic causes while advocating for technology innovation, manufacturing jobs, and greater investment in working-class communities.

For Hong, the participation of a nationally known Democrat could help draw broader attention to her campaign and underscore support from progressive leaders outside Wisconsin.

The rally is expected to feature speeches, live music, and community organizing activities, with organizers presenting it as an opportunity to build momentum around Hong's campaign message ahead of the state's upcoming political season.

Khanna has also remained active in Democratic primary politics nationally. In recent weeks, he has drawn attention for supporting progressive candidates in several high-profile races, reflecting his growing role within the party's progressive wing.

While there has been no indication that his appearance in Madison will include a formal endorsement announcement, his participation is expected to bring additional visibility to the event and to Hong's campaign as Wisconsin's gubernatorial contest begins to take shape.
