Jasmeet Bains has released a new campaign ad in the race for California’s 22nd congressional district, targeting incumbent Republican David Valadao on healthcare and immigration.
The digital ad, titled “Patients,” will run on televisions and mobile devices across the district ahead of the primary election and centers on Bains’ work as a physician in the Central Valley.

It opens with her saying, “My patients are scared,” as she references President Donald Trump, alleges threats to Medi-Cal, and accuses U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of “terrorizing communities.”
Bains also criticizes Valadao in the ad, saying he is “helping Trump do it” and “bows down to Trump.”
“I’m Jasmeet Bains, daughter of immigrants, family doctor,” she says. “In the Assembly, I fought insurance companies to protect patients. In Congress, I’ll stop the lawless attacks and make healthcare a right, not a privilege.”
Her campaign said the ad highlights her background as a physician and frames her candidacy around protecting patients and expanding access to care in the Central Valley.
Bains, who serves in the California State Assembly, has built her campaign around healthcare access in a district with high reliance on Medi-Cal. She has emphasized her work with underserved communities in the Central Valley, including efforts to address the opioid crisis and expand access to affordable care.
The digital ad rollout comes with less than two months remaining before the primary election, as candidates compete to advance from California’s top-two primary system.
Her campaign has also secured backing from Democratic leaders and organizations, including an endorsement from Congressman Ami Bera, along with support from EMILY’s List and labor organizations including SEIU California.
The primary election is scheduled for June 2, with the general election set for Nov. 3.
