Economist Arvind Subramanian said India’s democracy has both enabled stability and complicated economic decision-making, including in its relationship with global economic models, during a discussion on the ‘Ideas of India’ podcast.

Subramanian, a former Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India, and Devesh Kapur, a professor at Johns Hopkins University, spoke with host Shruti Rajagopalan about India’s development trajectory, policy choices, and institutional challenges.
