Yadav narrated that he was on his way home after dinner when a group of six teenagers attacked him from behind. The alleged attack left Yadav bleeding on the pavement after repeated blows to his face, head, neck, chest, hands and legs.

Yadav managed to call the police and was taken to the hospital where it was confirmed that he had a fractured cheekbone, among other injuries.

Talking about rising racist violence in Ireland, Yadav said, "This is not an isolated incident. Racist attacks on Indian men and other minorities are surging across Dublin—on buses, in housing estates, and on public streets."

Decrying the deafening silence displayed by the authorities, Yadav added, "The government is silent. There is no action being taken against these perpetrators. They run free and are emboldened to attack again."

He further said, "We deserve to feel safe. We deserve to walk on the streets without fear. I request concrete measures from the Government of Ireland, Embassy of India Dublin, Ministry of External Affairs, India, and Akhilesh Mishra (Indian Ambassador to Ireland) to protect us."
