Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan on Nov. 14 unveiled Shahrukhz Danube, a Dubai-based 56-story commercial tower that becomes the first-ever real estate project to carry his name.

The tower will offer approximately 450 sq ft office units and include a helipad, swimming pool, and a statue of Khan at the entrance. The project is expected to be completed in three to four years, and Danube plans to replicate the model in other cities.

Speaking at the event, Khan said the moment carried emotional weight. “My mother would have been very happy. It is a very big honor. When my kids come, I will tell them, “Papa ka naam likha hai, Papa ki building hai” (my name is written on it, it is my building).”

Khan, who usually avoids lending his name to commercial ventures, added, “I don't find myself that important that I put anything in my name except my films. Films are part of my profession and worship.”

Filmmaker Farah Khan, present as a guest, responded, “Shah Rukh has given his name to four people: Gauri, Aryan, Suhana, and AbRam.”

The event featured several lighthearted moments. Referring to his limited public appearances, Khan said he had become “Eid ka chand (the crescent moon seen during Eid)… kam dikhta hu but jab dikhta hoon, kamaal hota hai (rarely seen, but when I appear, it is special).”

He also recreated scenes from Om Shanti Om and Don. Khan said Sajan had asked him for a “viral moment,” prompting him to demonstrate his open-arm pose, the Don walk, and the iconic Om Shanti Om dialogue: “Itni shiddat se main tumhe paane ki koshish ki hai” (I have pursued you with utmost devotion).

Explaining why he agreed to be associated with the tower, Khan said he was moved by Sajan’s account of his wife’s illness. “It touched my heart… A lot of people come to big cities to make their homes. Their dreams are to make businesses and houses. If I could be a part of it and an inspiration, it would be the greatest gift for me.”

Khan will next be seen in Siddharth Anand’s King, which features Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhay Verma, and Abhishek Bachchan. Red Chillies Entertainment, his home production banner, recently backed the Netflix series ‘The Ba**ds of Bollywood,’ marking Aryan Khan’s directorial debut.
