FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau has carried out record-breaking arrests of violent criminals, gang members and child predators under President Donald Trump's administration.

In a social media post, Patel said, “President Trump’s law enforcement team is wiping out criminal networks in America at levels never seen before.”

The statement accompanied a video highlighting FBI operations conducted with local law enforcement agencies through nationwide task forces.

According to figures presented in the video, authorities have arrested more than 45,000 violent criminals. The FBI said violent crime arrests increased by 185 percent and that the national murder rate fell to its lowest level since 1937. The video also stated that violent crime nationwide declined by 10 percent.

“Working hand-in-hand, they've hunted down and locked up more than 45,000 violent criminals,” the video said. “Because of that relentless push, violent crime arrests are up 185 percent”

Patel also highlighted the bureau's efforts against organized criminal groups. According to the FBI, authorities dismantled 2,450 street gangs, which the agency described as a 322 percent increase in gang takedowns.

The bureau further reported seizing 2,600 kilograms of fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that has fueled the U.S. overdose crisis. The FBI said the seizures represented a 56% increase and prevented more than one billion potentially lethal doses from reaching American communities.

Alongside violent crime and narcotics enforcement, Patel pointed to the FBI's efforts against child exploitation and trafficking networks. The bureau cited a series of nationwide operations, including Operation Restore Justice, announced in May 2025, which resulted in the arrest of 205 alleged child sexual abuse offenders and the rescue of 115 children.

Federal authorities later expanded those efforts through additional operations, including Operation Relentless Justice and Operation Iron Pursuit. According to the FBI, Operation Relentless Justice led to the arrest of 293 alleged child sexual abuse offenders and the identification of more than 205 child victims, while Operation Iron Pursuit resulted in more than 350 arrests and the identification of over 200 child victims.

The FBI's video contrasted the bureau's recent enforcement figures with previous years, asserting that current results have surpassed those recorded during the administration of former President Joe Biden.

The claims come as Patel faces scrutiny over his leadership of the FBI. Recent reports and congressional inquiries have examined allegations involving his conduct, use of government resources and management decisions within the bureau.

Patel has denied the allegations and filed defamation lawsuits against some media organizations, calling the reports false and politically motivated.
