Surati for Performing Arts hosted the 15th Annual 'Holi Hai Festival of Colors' celebration in New Jersey on June 6.
The event sought to bring the vibrant traditions of India’s Holi festival to the local community in Jersey City with participants who had gathered to play with colors, throwing powdered hues and spraying colored water at each other, creating a lively and joyous atmosphere.
The organizers noted, "Surati Holi Hai not only celebrates Indian culture but also promotes diversity and inclusivity within the Jersey City community, inviting people of all backgrounds to partake in the joyous occasion."
The festivities of the Holi Hai Color Festival kick off at 12:00 noon , featuring live music and dance performances, DJ dancing, color countdowns, food stalls, a full cash bar, and activities for all ages. The festival embodies the traditional spirit of Holi, promoting unity and cultural appreciation among diverse attendees.
Surati Holi Hai is supported by organizations such as New Jersey Travel and Tourism and the City of Jersey City, underscoring its significance in the region’s cultural landscape.
Consul for Community Affairs at the Consulate General of India in New York, Tsewang Gyaltson, along with Jersey City Mayor James Solomon and numerous other elected officials and dignitaries attended the celebration.

The festivities also featured cultural performances by over 20 artists including Indian Classical piano recital, Bharatnatyam, Bihu, Bhangra & Bengali folk dance and Bollywood songs.
Talking about the event, the Consulate General of India in New York said on X, "The 15th Annual Holi Hai Festival of Colors organized by Surati for Performing Arts was held at Exchange Place, Jersey City, attracting an enthralled, diverse crowd."
CGI NY continued, "The participants were captivated and entertained with rapturous rounds of dancing amid festive color throwing."
