Urban Italia officially opened its doors this week following a press launch hosted by Tivona Hospitality in a new space in Victory Park, Dallas.

Located at 3030 Nowitzki Way, the restaurant aims to bring Italian-American classics to the Metroplex, blending old-world traditions with new-world energy. The menu features handcrafted pastas and red-sauce favorites curated by Chef Carla Pellegrino.

Following the success of the fine-dining Indian restaurant Sanjh in Irving, the restaurant’s owners are expanding their footprint with another upscale concept, this time introducing Italian fine dining to North Texas.

Adding to the appeal, Urban Italia will be topped by Saffron House, a modern Indian cuisine restaurant. Saffron House is a familiar name in the restaurant industry. Originally launched in 2001, the iconic restaurant closed during the COVID-19 pandemic and is now set to reopen under the leadership of Prob Arora.

Speaking to NIA, Tivona Hospitality CEO Sanjay Joshi explained the vision behind launching an Italian fine-dining concept in Dallas-Fort Worth.

“Dallas-Fort Worth is incredibly diverse, and we want to cater to a wide audience,” Joshi said. “Our goal is not only to reach the Indian community through Sanjh, but also to appeal to the mainstream palate with other global dining options.”

He also shared plans to expand Sanjh to other cities in the future.

Under Tivona Hospitality’s umbrella are four distinct restaurant concepts: the fine-dining Indian restaurant Sanjh, fine-dining Italian restaurant Urban Italia, modern Indian restaurant Saffron House, and high-end authentic Indo-Chinese restaurant Chungwa.

Joshi said the upcoming Indo-Chinese concept, Chungwa, will operate as a lounge and bar. Expected to open in February, the restaurant will operate daily for lunch and dinner. The venue will also host Nirvana Nights on Fridays and Saturdays, featuring a DJ-led lounge experience.

The opening is pending the arrival of trained staff from India.
