A new documentary explores how a group of Indian American engineers in California became the center of what the film characterizes as unfounded allegations from 2020 to 2023.

Directed by Vikram Mishra, ‘Castegate’ traces the events surrounding the California Civil Rights Department’s (CRD) caste-discrimination lawsuit against technology entrepreneurs Sundar Iyer and Ramana Kompella, along with Cisco Systems. The CRD filed the suit in 2020, triggering extensive media scrutiny of the two engineers.
