Vikram Manikonda joins GRVTY advisory board
He will provide strategic guidance to GRVTY, helping expand its national security capabilities and accelerate mission-focused innovation across advanced technologies.

Virginia-based national security company focused on cyber, space, spectrum and maritime autonomy, GRVTY, has appointed Indian-American technology executive Vikram Manikonda to its advisory board, the company announced on Aug. 10.
Manikonda brings nearly three decades of experience in research and development, entrepreneurship, executive leadership and defense technology innovation.
He is expected to provide strategic guidance as GRVTY expands its capabilities and develops technologies for the Department of War and the U.S. intelligence community.

Manikonda currently serves as a professor of the practice in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering. He also serves as chair of the Industry Advisory Board for the university’s Matrix Lab.
Before joining the University of Maryland, Manikonda served as chief technology officer at BlueHalo, where he led technology strategy, chaired the company’s Science and Technology Council and established its Cloud Center of Excellence. He also oversaw research and development initiatives across BlueHalo’s defense, intelligence and space portfolios.
Manikonda previously spent 23 years at Intelligent Automation Inc., where he served as president and CEO. He was also a founder, investor and board member at Cryptonite LLC.
His work has included autonomy, artificial intelligence and machine learning, counter-drone systems, space technologies, data analytics and open-source intelligence. He has contributed to projects supporting the U.S. Department of Defense and intelligence community.
Manikonda has received the University of Maryland Clark School’s Glenn L. Martin Medal and a NASA Team Achievement Award for his contributions to the Airspace Concept Evaluation System.

Manikonda holds a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland and a bachelor’s degree from Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.
