Perkins Restaurant and Bakery is set to enter Texas for the first time, with Indian American franchisers leading the expansion into one of the country’s fastest-growing regions.
According to a press release, the brand has signed a three-unit development agreement with Raj DFW LLC, a franchise group led by Naren Patel, Bansari Patel, and Chetana Patel. The first location is slated to open in Carrollton, with construction expected to begin in spring 2026.

Reacting to the development, Naren, who serves as a landlord for a Perkins outlet in Kansas, said, "We are thrilled to begin construction on the new Perkins and to be at the forefront of the brand’s entry and growth in the Texas market."
"Perkins boasts a strong legacy, supported by a loyal guest base and defined by great food and genuine hospitality. Our team looks forward to introducing this iconic brand to our neighbors and communities throughout the DFW Metroplex," he added.
“These are exciting times for Perkins, especially as we enter a new, major market," said Peter Ortiz, chief development officer for Ascent Hospitality Management, parent company to Perkins American Food Co. "We are honored to team up with Bansari, Chetana, and Naren to expand our footprint and explore new territories, while upholding the core values that have driven our success for decades.”
The three planned restaurants will feature Perkins’ latest prototype, blending the brand’s nostalgic identity with a more contemporary design and updated menu experience. The refreshed concept aims to attract a broader, modern audience while retaining the familiarity that longtime customers value, the release stated.
