Tata group owned, Air India signed deals to purchase 220 jets from Boeing and 250 planes from Airbus, to confirm one of the largest orders in aviation history, it placed for in February 2023.
Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson signed the purchase agreements with Boeing and Airbus in the presence of the chairman of Air India and Tata Sons, N Chandrasekaran. On deals with both companies, Campbell said, "Our ambitious fleet renewal and expansion programme will see Air India operate the most advanced and fuel-efficient aircraft across our route network within five years."
