Navarasa aspires to inspire, engage, and entertain global audiences by placing art at the center of human development. Navarasa promotes South Asian art forms including Bharatanatyam dance, Kalari martial arts, Yoga, folk dances, theater, music, and wellness through 1) Creation/Performance/Production, 2) Teaching/Sharing, and 3) Research/Development. Inspired by the eclectic performing arts traditions, boldly knitting together dance, singing, martial arts, and original music into seamless theatrical presentations, Navarasa’s multilayered, multilingual productions inspire, engage, and entertain audiences around the world. Navarasa directors along with world renowned artists create unique theatrical work and promote South Asian art forms by teaching dance, martial art, yoga, music, and theater to people from all backgrounds and age groups. Navarasa is the primary institution for Kalari and Mysore Style Bharatanatyam in the United States. Navarasa’s Dance For Everyone brings dance and martial arts training for free to more than 200 students in India and USA every week. Navarasa believes that the performing arts are a source of inspiration, a means of expression, and an integral part of every person’s life. Art is not just a pastime of the privileged; it is a necessity for all.
