BAPS Celebrates 50 Years of Spiritual and Cultural Legacy in North America

December 2024 589 views 01 Min 10 Sec

BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha commemorated 50 years since the inauguration of its first mandir in North America, established in 1974 by His Holiness Pramukh Swami Maharaj in Flushing, New York. The grand celebrations spanned two weekends, drawing thousands from across the country. The event highlighted BAPS’s inspiring journey, from humble beginnings to a prominent Hindu organization with over 115 mandirs across North America. An interactive exhibition showcased BAPS’s history and its contributions to spiritual upliftment, community service, and cultural preservation. Congressman Tom Suozzi (NY-3) honored the milestone, remarking, “The journey of BAPS is remarkable,” and presented the organization with a U.S. Capitol flag flown in recognition of its 50 years of dedication.
