पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने जर्मनी के चांसलर फ्रेडरिक मर्ज से गुजरात के गांधीनगर में मुलाकात की। जहां दोनों ही नेताओं के द्विपक्षीय संबंधों को मजबूत करने के लिए वार्ता हुई। जर्मन चांसलर सीधे गुजरात के अहमदाबाद पहुंचे, जहां से वो गांधीनगर स्थित महात्मा मंदिर में पीएम मोदी मिले। दोनों नेताओं की द्विपक्षीय वार्ता के बाद जॉइंट प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में पीएम मोदी ने जर्मनी के साथ भारत के संबंधों को और बेहतर करने पर जोर दिया।पीएम मोदी ने कहा कि, स्वामी विवेकानंद की जयंती के दिन चांसलर मर्ज का स्वागत करना उनके लिए सुखद है। इस वार्ता से पहले चांसलर मर्ज पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी के साथ महात्मा गांधी के साबरमती आश्रम पहुंचे थे, जहां उन्होंने विजिटर्स बुक में नोट भी लिखा। इसके बाद दोनों ही नेताओं ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय पतंग महोत्सव का शुभारंभ किया। दोनों ने साबरमती रिवरफ्रंट पर काफी वक्त गुजारकर पतंग भी उड़ाई। जिसकी तस्वीरें सोशल मीडिया पर छाई हुईं हैं।
