National Guard member dies after DC shooting

November 2025 227 views 1min 57sec

The FBI searched multiple properties in Washington state and San Diego on Thursday in what it said was a terrorism probe into a man suspected of shooting two National Guard members. KASH PATEL: “It is an ongoing investigation of terrorism. Make no mistake about it..." The suspect was identified by the Department of Homeland Security as Rahmanullah Lakanwal, an Afghan national. The 29-year-old lived in Washington state with his wife and five children. FBI Director Kash Patel said investigators seized numerous electronic devices from the suspect's house and interviewed the suspect's relatives. "There is confirmation now that the subject had a relationship in Afghanistan with partner forces. We are fully investigating that aspect of his background as well to include any known associates that are either overseas or here in the United States of America.” U.S. Attorney for Washington, D.C., Jeanine Pirro, identified the injured Guardsmen as 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom... and 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe. Both are in critical condition following surgeries.
