  • Daniel Leigh on Indian economy

Daniel Leigh on Indian economy

August 2023 871 views 09 mins 22 secs

Daniel Leigh heads the World Economic Studies division in the IMF's Research Department, which produces the World Economic Outlook (WEO). "India's economy is growing strongly and also inflation is in the range of the central bank target. So those are positive things and the growth forecast itself is for growth of 6.1% this year. This means that basically 16% of the world economy, one in six of the world's economic growth is coming from India,” he said in response to a question.
