World Hindu Economic Forum held in Australia

The forum has laid a robust foundation for sustained cross-border economic collaboration and long-term mutual growth.

The World Hindu Economic Forum (WHEF) 2025 was organized in Adelaide, Australia. Concluded on Aug. 3, the two-day event was attended by over 600 guests from across the globe.

The convention included multi-sectoral dialogue and deliberation, presentation, innovation showcases, and strategic networking at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Themed “Empowering Growth – Prosperity, Innovation & Sustainability”, the convention deliberated critical themes including renewable energy, defence, education, the digital economy, and healthcare, offering a platform for sharing insights, exploring partnerships, and fostering cross-border investment.

Rajendra Pandey, Chairperson of the Organising Committee of the convention, described the event as a "celebration of innovation, enterprise, and collaboration between Bharat and Australia”.

He further said, “WHEF 2025 is more than just a conference, it’s a dynamic global platform for networking where ideas meet investment and partnerships take root.”

The convention received support from the South Australian Government, with appearances and support from Zoe Bettison MP, Minister for Tourism and Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Joe Szakacs MP, Minister for Trade and Investment and Vincent Tarzia MP, Leader of the Opposition, South Australia.

The event also featured a panel discussion on the Australia–Bharat Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement, moderated by Senator Andrew McLachlan CSC (Commonwealth Parliament of Australia). The panel featured High Commissioner of India to Australia Gopal Baglay, Matt Opie, CEO, Defence South Australia, and Prof. Patricia M. Davidson, Vice Chancellor’s Fellow at the University of New South Wales.

The event's Grand Panel was on 'Global Business Leadership for a Resilient Future.' Prof. Mahendhiran Sanggaran Nair, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research & Sustainability), Sunway University, Malaysia and Raymond Spencer, Chair of Zen Energy, led the session.

Swami Vigyananand, Founder of the World Hindu Economic Forum, recognized sponsors and honoured long-time delegates by presenting Certificates of Appreciation to those who have attended 10 WHEF conferences.

He also launched HAR HAR – the Hindu Association of Restaurant, Hotel, Aahar and Refreshment – a new initiative to support professionals in the global food and hospitality sector.

An International Expo featuring over 40 global trade and business booths was another key attraction, showcasing opportunities in technology, manufacturing, food processing, defence, education, and more.

The attendees visited South Australia’s leading innovation hubs, including Lot Fourteen and Tonsley Innovation District, engaging firsthand with cutting-edge research, tech, and defence ecosystems.
