Who is Priya Kansara? Voice behind ‘Project Hail Mary’ AI

Priya Kansara, a British actor of Indian origin, is drawing attention for voicing a central character in the sci-fi film Project Hail Mary, released March 20. Kansara plays Mary, the spaceship’s onboard computer, a constant presence for astronaut Ryland Grace as he wakes up alone in space with no memory and faces a mission to save the sun.
Kansara, known for her roles in Bridgerton and Polite Society, was born in London’s Enfield borough and is of Indian descent. In Project Hail Mary, her voice becomes the only steady companion to Grace, played by Ryan Gosling, as he navigates isolation and confusion aboard the spacecraft.
