The day-light murder of an Indian-origin man in a Dallas motel has left the diaspora community shaken with renewed fear and uncertainty. A viral Reddit post by a non-resident Indian (NRI) has since drawn attention to the often-overlooked hardships and risks that define the “unseen side of immigrant life.”
On Sept.10, 50-year-old Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah was allegedly killed in an Old East Dallas motel by Cuban national Yordanis Cobos-Martinez following a dispute over a broken washing machine, sparking widespread panic among NRIs.
