The U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) President and CEO, Dr. Mukesh Aghi, made an announcement regarding the debut of the 'India Gaming Market Report' alongside the inauguration of the first-ever India Pavilion at the Game Developers' Conference on Mar. 20 in San Francisco.

Collaborating with USISPF member WinZO, the event saw the presence of notable figures including Paavan Nanda and Saumya Singh Rathore, co-founders of WinZO, as well as India's Consul General in San Francisco, Dr. K Srikar Reddy, and Deputy Consul General Mr. Rakesh Adlakha.

During the event, Dr. Aghi engaged in a chat with Consul General Dr. K Srikar Reddy, focusing on India's dynamic gaming industry. Highlighting India's vibrant digital economy and youthful demographic dividend, he emphasized the role of storytelling in propelling the gaming sector's growth.

"The inauguration of the India Pavilion signifies a significant milestone in the Indo-U.S. relationship," remarked Dr. Aghi. He underscored the growing online gaming sector in India and stressed the importance of collaborative initiatives in fostering investment, innovation, and content creation between the two nations.

Dr. Reddy expressed appreciation for companies like WinZO for their support and collaboration with game developers. He commended the participants of the India Pavilion as digital ambassadors, showcasing India's prowess on the global stage and facilitating global recognition for Indian game developers.

"Each participant present at the India Pavilion today serves as a digital ambassador, showcasing not only their work but also representing India on the global stage. It's gratifying to witness companies like WinZO actively supporting and collaborating with game developers, enabling them to export their content and gain global recognition," Dr. Reddy said.

Key insights from the India Gaming Industry include projections indicating substantial growth, with the market size expected to reach US$6 billion by 2028, and a notable increase in internet and smartphone users.

The report also highlights India's significant share in global mobile game app downloads and its position as a key player in the gaming market. “India has over 820 million smartphone users and over 600 million gamers,” read the report.

USISPF is a not-for-profit institution dedicated to strengthening the U.S.-India partnership in Washington, D.C., and in New Delhi.
