Anjali Sud, CEO of Tubi and former CEO of Vimeo, and Sanjay Seth, historian and professor at Goldsmiths, University of London, have been elected to leadership roles at Harvard University. Sud has joined the Board of Overseers, while Seth is among the newly elected directors of the Harvard Alumni Association (HAA), Harvard Gazette announced in a release.
Both are Indian-origin alumni and their terms begin this summer. Sud will assume her position on the Board of Overseers on May 30, while Seth will begin his three-year term with the HAA board on Jul. 1.
Sud, born in Detroit to Punjabi immigrant parents, grew up in Flint, Michigan. A 2011 graduate of Harvard Business School, Sud earned her undergraduate degree in finance and management from the University of Pennsylvania. She has built a notable career in tech and media leadership, taking Vimeo public in 2021 and now leading the streaming platform Tubi. She also serves on the boards of Dolby Laboratories and Change.org.

Seth, who earned dual master’s degrees from Harvard Kennedy School in 2019, is a leading academic in postcolonial studies. He was born in Australia and studied in Sydney and Canberra before holding academic posts in Tokyo, Melbourne, and now London.
The Board of Overseers which is Harvard’s second-highest governing body after the Corporation plays a critical role in reviewing the quality of academic programs and providing strategic counsel to the university’s leadership. Sud will serve a two-year term, filling the remainder of the term vacated by Mark Carney.
Seth’s role on the HAA board will focus on deepening alumni engagement, supporting volunteer leadership, and fostering community among Harvard’s global alumni. The HAA board has increasingly prioritized inclusive outreach and engagement with recent graduates.
Sud and Seth are among a broader slate of new appointees. The newly elected Overseers include Mary Louise Kelly, NPR’s All Things Considered co-host; Courtney B. Vance, actor and president of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation; and Michael Rosenblatt, former chief medical officer at Merck.
Other newly elected HAA directors include Angela Ruggiero, Olympic gold medalist and co-founder of Sports Innovation Lab, and Nicholas Melvoin, a Los Angeles school board member.
This year, over 39,000 Harvard degree holders voted in the Overseer election and over 41,000 in the HAA directors race. Both boards will welcome their new members during summer meetings on campus.
