The Federation of Indian Physicians Associations (FIPA) organized the Gujarati Physicians Convention 2025 in Atlanta, which drew over 2000 attendees from across the United States and abroad.
Held from July 2 to 6 at the Signia Hilton in Atlanta, under the leadership of FIPA chairman Ajeet Kothari and co-chairs Shirish Patel, Gunjan Shukla, Sumul Rawal, and Raj Bhayani, the event blended academic advancement, cultural celebration, and professional collaboration.
Dignitaries in attendance included Ramesh Babu, Consul General of India in Atlanta, who commended the community’s leadership and unity. Notable recognitions were conferred upon Kiran Patel for his distinguished service in the medical profession and Madhu Parikh, who received the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contributions to uniting Gujarati physicians.
The convention featured an extensive Continuing Medical Education (CME) program, coordinated by Gunjan Shukla and Durve, which offered sessions on contemporary clinical practices, global health trends, and medical leadership.
Cultural highlights included a performance by the Sonali Vyas Jani Dance Company, which received a standing ovation for its artistic excellence and traditional and international cuisine presented by Rajbhog Caterers.
The organizing committee’s efforts were supported by Dalsukh Madia, Mukesh Patel, Manoj Shah, Vinod Shah, Naresh Parikh, and other senior FIPA leaders.
According to the organizers, the event provided physicians with valuable opportunities to exchange ideas, collaborate across states and specializations, and establish enduring friendships. Young physicians utilized it as a mentorship hub, while veterans utilized it as a commemoration of their legacy, the team said.
