Warrant issued for man accused of murdering Indo-Canadian woman

Authorities have identified Abdul Ghafoori, 32, of Toronto, as the suspect.

Indo-Canadian Himanshi Khurana was found dead by Toronto Police in the morning of Dec. 20 inside a residence in the city’s west end, and the death was classified as a homicide.

A day before the body was located, officers were called to the area of Strachan Avenue and Wellington Street West at about 10:41 p.m. on Dec. 19, with a report of a missing person.

While an investigation was launched immediately, authorities found the deceased the following day at around 6:30 a.m. and established that the victim and the suspect were known to each other.

Authorities have identified Abdul Ghafoori, 32, of Toronto, as the suspect. He is wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for first-degree murder.

Khurana’s murder marks to be Toronto's 40th Homicide of this year.

The Toronto Police Service has made the public aware of this homicide investigation and is seeking their possible assistance.
