RCP chief Mumtaz Patel calls for prompt action against racism in NHS

An NHS staff survey shows discrimination still affecting healthcare workers.

Mumtaz Patel, president of the Royal College of Physicians, said tackling racism must be a priority in the UK’s publicly funded healthcare system, the National Health Service (NHS).

Her demand comes after the release of the annual NHS staff survey, which highlights that many NHS staff continue to face discrimination and abuse at work despite the health service’s reliance on a diverse workforce.
