New York State Governor Kathy Hochul joined the Shenoy family for a Diwali celebration on October 16, 2025, at Taverna Kellari, an upscale restaurant in NYC. The dinner time brought together close friends, family members, and members of the Governor’s team to mark the Festival of Lights in a warm and festive setting.
Governor Hochul extended heartfelt Diwali greetings to the Indian American community, reflecting on the festival’s message of light triumphing over darkness and the importance of unity, cultural harmony, and shared progress.
The celebration was hosted by Andy Shenoy, a respected community leader, and a businessman who has maintained a low profile by working behind the scenes for more than two decades to strengthen bilateral ties between the world’s two largest democracies,Republic of India and the United States.
As a Director on the Board of the United Nations Development Corporation, Mr. Shenoy has collaborated closely with New York State Governors on community and cultural initiatives. He has also worked with New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy to expand trade and cultural relations during their trip to India.
Governor Hochul commended Andy Shenoy for his long standing leadership and bridge-building efforts and expressed gratitude to the Shenoy family for their warm hospitality.
The evening reflected the true spirit of Diwali, celebrating light, community, and a shared vision for a stronger and more inclusive future for New York State and the Indian community.
