The 16th Annual Nehru Trophy Boat Race was organized in Canada's Brampton city, featuring a colorful inaugural procession, a ceremonial water parade, thrilling boat races and cultural performances.
The event, organized by the Brampton Malayalee Samajam, took place on Aug. 8 at Professor's Lake Recreation Centre in Brampton.

Consul General of India in Toronto Mahavir Singhvi attended the event that brought together community leaders and people from diverse communities through sport, friendship and civic engagement.
The consul general appreciated the organizers for their efforts to celebrate India's rich cultural heritage over the last 16 years, which has grown into a prominent multicultural event uniting thousands from across Canada and abroad to promote people-to-people ties.
The vibrant event featured a colorful inaugural procession, ceremonial water parade, thrilling boat races, cultural performances and family activities — a fitting celebration of the shared values connecting India and Canada, India's consulate in Toronto posted on X.
