HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood appoints Arabinda Pani as chief medical officer

Pani will oversee clinical quality initiatives, strengthen physician collaboration, and advance patient-centered care across the hospital.

HCA Houston Healthcare, has appointed physician leader Arabinda Pani as its new chief medical officer for the Kingwood region. 

In his new role, Pani will oversee clinical quality initiatives and support efforts to advance patient-centered care across the hospital while working closely with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to improve healthcare delivery.

Pani joins HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood after serving as chief medical officer at HCA Houston Healthcare Northwest since January 2023. During his tenure, he led initiatives focused on quality improvement, physician collaboration and enhancing patient care.

“Pani brings a strong track record of physician leadership and a deep commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. His experience leading quality initiatives and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams will be instrumental as we continue to serve the growing healthcare needs of the Lake Houston community,” said John Corbeil, chief executive officer.

Before joining HCA Houston Healthcare, Pani practiced emergency medicine at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona. He later served as the hospital's chief of staff from 2018 to 2022 and held additional leadership positions, including board memberships with both the hospital and the YRMC Foundation.

Pani graduated with honors from Vanderbilt University in 2001 before earning his medical degree from Harvard Medical School in 2006. He completed his residency in emergency medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center from 2006 to 2009 and later earned a master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Texas.

Board certified in emergency medicine, Pani is an active member of several professional physician organizations.
