Vishal Patel, an Indian-origin researcher affiliated with Harvard Medical School, led a study linking major music album release days to increases in traffic fatalities in the United States.

The research, published last month as a working paper by the National Bureau of Economic Research, analyzed driving data alongside music streaming trends between 2017 and 2022.
