Washington, DC-based Indian restaurant Tamashaa introduced a seasonal Cherry Blossom Menu timed with the city’s annual spring celebrations and the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

Among the small plates is the Mushroom Galouti, which features mushroom kebabs served with saffron bread. Another item, the Eggplant Sago Tart, combines eggplant ratatouille with sago fritters.
The menu also includes an Alaskan Crab Cake served with mango chili sauce and Chicken Nachos prepared with Thai-style spicy chicken, tortilla chips and guacamole.
Main dishes on the menu include Chicken Nilgiri Korma, made with bone-in chicken cooked in a coriander and mint-based curry. Lamb Haleem, a slow-cooked dish associated with Hyderabadi cuisine, is also featured.
Vegetarian dishes include Gatta Curry, gram flour dumplings served in a yogurt-based gravy associated with Rajasthan, and Singara Palak prepared with sautéed baby spinach and pickled water chestnuts.
Bread and rice options include Nazza, described as a three-pepper cheese naan, and Jackfruit Pilaf made with masala-spiced jackfruit and basmati rice. The dessert offering includes New York Cheesecake served with berry compote.
“Spring in Washington, DC is a beautiful time of celebration, and the Cherry Blossom Menu is our way of honoring the season through food,” said Sanjay Kumar, executive chef at Tamashaa Restaurant Washington, DC.
“We wanted to create dishes that reflect both the vibrancy of Indian cuisine and the festive energy of the Cherry Blossom season. Each dish on the menu has been thoughtfully crafted to bring together bold flavors, seasonal inspiration, and a memorable dining experience for our guests.”
The menu arrives as Washington prepares for the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival, a multi-week celebration marking the blooming of cherry trees around the Tidal Basin.
The festival commemorates the 1912 gift of cherry trees from Tokyo to Washington, DC, symbolizing friendship between the United States and Japan and drawing large numbers of visitors to the city each year.
Tamashaa is located on 14th Street NW.
