Microsoft techie returns to India with remote job: 'I left to live'
Chadha says work ended visa anxiety, freeing him to build products amid Trump era uncertainty.

At a time when many scramble to get their Visas approved as approval rates seem dwindling, AI techie Ujjwal Chadha left his Microsoft Developer job in the United States and moved back to India, eyeing a remote position.
In what he describes as a move that "changed his life", Chadha highlighted the value of a Purchasing Power Parity, noting that while a $250,000 pay provides for a comfortable life in Seattle, but is much more sizable when living in India.
Highlighting what comes with higher ability to purchase, he said, "No more lonely winters. No more frozen dinners. No more 2-hour commutes on the 101. Now, I have chai with my parents every evening. I have a cook. I have a driver. I have time."

Chadha also remarked that he is no longer worried about the Visa issues, while the world is reeling over the Trump administration's ever-evolving regulatory frameworks. He said, "I didn't "step down." I stepped up. Remote work strips away the "visa anxiety." I focus purely on building good products. And on my own ideas."
According to reports, Chadha's route could work wonders for anyone who is able to keep their jobs while working remotely, this becomes particularly important at a time when many H-1B visa holders are currently stranded in India as no new visa stamping interview dates are available before 2027.
