ITServe Alliance, a network representing over 2,500 small and medium-sized IT firms across North America, successfully concluded its nationwide “Achieve One Million Steps in 60 Days” wellness challenge between May 10 and July 10, 2025.

The initiative, in which 50 members collectively logged over 21 million steps, was designed to promote physical well-being and community engagement. It was led by Suresh Punna, ITServe’s sports and wellness chair.

The challenge encouraged participants to walk one million steps over the two-month period. Four members exceeded that goal even before the 60-day mark: Sitaram Mukkamala led the tally with 1.2 million steps, followed by Sunil Pantra (1.09 million), Raja Sajja (1.05 million), and Palaniappan Subramanian (1.00 million). An additional 15 participants recorded over 500,000 steps, while 41 members crossed 100,000 steps.

Top scorer, Mukkamala said, “From early morning walks to evening jogs, every step taken was a commitment to personal well-being and collective motivation. This challenge sparked healthy habits, daily accountability, and most importantly—connection across our vibrant ITServe family.”

“The overall objective of the challenge has been to help our members in building habits, fostering wellness, and strengthening community. This Steps Challenge was just the beginning. Together, we’ve shown that movement inspires community—and at ITServe, our strength lies in how we walk together toward a healthier, happier future,” Punna said, crediting national president Anju Vallabhaneni for his support.

Governing board chair Raghu Chittimalla and president-elect Siva Moopanar echoed the value of promoting wellness within the IT industry, stressing the importance of staying active for both mental and physical health.

“As CEOs and leaders in the IT industry, we can be lost in the race to succeed in our professional lives. This much-needed challenge to walk a million steps in 60 days allows each of us to look beyond our careers and focus on our health,” Chittimalla said.

ITServe Alliance, established in 2010, is an association of IT solutions and services organizations in the U.S., with 22 regional chapters. It serves as a voice for small and mid-sized IT businesses and supports a wide range of professional and community initiatives.
