The Consulate General of India in New York hosted a screening of the Malayalam film 'Aghosham' in collaboration with the Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (FOKANA), celebrating Indian cinema and strengthening cultural ties within the diaspora.
The Indian mission in New York took to X, announcing the event, which aimed to highlight the role of regional cinema in fostering cultural connections abroad and promoting cultural exchange.
The event brought together members of the Indian diaspora as well as ‘friends of India.’ The post on X read,

'Aghosham', directed by Amal K. Joby, is a Malayalam campus-themed thriller set against the backdrop of a village festival and explores how celebration turns into chaos as personal rivalries and unresolved tensions surface.

Ketan Bhuptani, deputy mayor of Livingston, and Dr. Aney Paul, legislator, Rockland County Legislature, along with community leaders, were among the guests present at the screening, underscoring the growing cultural engagement between India and the United States.
