The Consulate General of India in Seattle, in partnership with the Bellevue School District, organized an outreach event titled “Celebrating India” to introduce students to the country’s heritage, traditional art forms, and culture.

The event was held at Interlake High School in Bellevue on March 21.

It featured a range of activities, including a Madhubani art workshop where students painted bookmarks and learned about traditional Indian painting styles.

Students also participated in an interactive “Know India Quiz” and watched a Kuchipudi performance, a classical dance form from Andhra Pradesh’s Krishna district.

A tasting of Indian cuisine was arranged as part of the program.

Students were also introduced to India’s democracy, diversity, and economic growth through presentations and discussions.

The event included screenings of the Bollywood films 'Dangal' and 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara.'
