Two Indian-origin oncologists win value-based cancer care award
They were chosen from a nomination pool of 2,800 candidates by the Association for Value-Based Cancer Care.

Dr. Sundeep Grandhe and Dr. Urvi Shah have been selected as part of the Association for Value-Based Cancer Care’s “2026 Class of 40 Under 40 in Cancer,” the association announced May 13.
The 40 winners, including Dr. Sundeep Grandhe and Dr. Urvi Shah, were chosen from an “outstanding and highly competitive” nomination pool of 2,800 candidates.
Dr. Grandhe is a quadruple board-certified physician-executive with dual Harvard-affiliated fellowships in hospice and palliative medicine from Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and in bioethics from the Harvard Center for Bioethics.
Dr. Grandhe is deeply committed to serving medically underserved communities. After completing his Harvard training, he oriented his practice toward offering culturally responsive, compassionate care for patients facing serious illness and end-of-life decisions.

Before joining Harvard, he completed his MD at Sri Ramachandra Medical College and Research Institute in Chennai, India.
Dr. Shah is an assistant attending physician at the Myeloma Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York. She also worked as a fellow at Montefiore Health System in New York.
Dr. Shah is a board-certified hematologist-oncologist with expertise in diagnosing and treating plasma cell disorders.
The association noted that the honorees embody “excellence across research, clinical care, advocacy and beyond.”
Congratulating the winners, the association added, “Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees. We look forward to honoring your achievements and the impact you continue to make.”
The winners will be honored May 30 at Palmer House in Chicago.
