St. Catherine (St.Kate’s) University in Minnesota appointed Indian American academic Anupama Pasricha as its inaugural president’s senior fellow for leadership integration.
The newly created strategic role within the university’s senior leadership was announced by president Marcheta P. Evans on Dec. 15.Pasricha, who currently serves as dean of the School of Business, will transition to the new role effective Jan. 5, 2026.

In the position, she will work directly with Evans and lead the design of several forward-looking initiatives across the university focused on belonging, organizational culture and leadership development.
“I am grateful to Pasricha for taking this bold step forward to lead a team that will design leadership programming for the entire University, and excited to see the ways that she will contribute to our leadership-focused institutional priorities,” Evens added.
Evans said the role reflects the university’s intent to integrate leadership development more intentionally across its academic and institutional structures. “As a university founded to educate women to lead and influence, we know that leadership is not a program—it is integral to our identity, our mission, and our shared aspirations,” she said.
Pasricha said she welcomed the opportunity to take on the new role. “I am honored to serve as St. Catherine University’s inaugural President’s Senior Fellow for Leadership Integration,” she said. “This role affirms our commitment to human-centered leadership as a shared practice across the University.”
Pasricha brings more than 30 years of global teaching and research experience to the position, including 12 years in India.
She has been part of the St. Catherine University community since 2005 and previously served for a decade as chair of the fashion design and merchandising department, as well as an internship and study-abroad advisor. She was appointed dean of the School of Business in 2024.
Her work at St. Kate’s has included a curriculum transformation in fashion studies that embedded sustainability across coursework, an approach that now runs throughout the university’s fashion program.
She also served for eight years as executive director of Educators for Socially Responsible Apparel Practices, expanding the organization’s global reach and increasing student engagement in sustainability initiatives. Earlier this year, she was invited to contribute to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Higher Education Challenge Grant Program focused on circular economy competencies in textiles and apparel.
As dean of the School of Business, Pasricha advanced initiatives centered on equity and leadership. Under her leadership, the school renewed a $1.5 million grant from the Manitou Fund to continue Katie Leadership Impact, a leadership development platform serving students and the broader community.
She has also been involved in expanding the Minnesota Census of Women in Corporate Leadership and completed the Higher Education Resource Services Leadership Institute, a nationally recognized program focused on inclusive leadership in higher education.
Pasricha has received multiple academic and professional honors, including the 2011 American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences National New Achiever Award, the 2017 Bonnie Jean Kelly and Joan Kelly Award for Faculty Excellence, and the 2023 Outstanding Professional award from the Minnesota chapter of the association.
Her sustainable design work has been featured at venues such as the Minnesota History Center and the Textile Center of Minnesota.
She holds a doctorate and a master of education from Iowa State University, as well as a master of science and a bachelor of science from Delhi University in India. Her publication record includes more than 100 scholarly works spanning journal articles, book chapters, reviews and conference proceedings.
