Ro Khanna backs billionaire wealth tax, calls it a moral test for America

U.S. Rep. Ro Khanna has renewed his call for a federal billionaire wealth tax, arguing that taxing extreme wealth rather than reported income is essential to restoring fairness in the U.S. tax system and funding major public investments.
In an essay published on July 2 the California Democrat defended the Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act, legislation he introduced with Sen. Bernie Sanders that would impose a 5 percent annual tax on the wealth of America's billionaires.
