Reliance Retail Limited has acquired actor-entrepreneur Priyanka Chopra Jonas’s haircare brand Anomaly, bringing its trademarks, brand assets and digital properties under its portfolio, the company said on April 30. Isha Ambani, executive director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, and Chopra Jonas are expected to lead the brand’s next phase of growth.
The deal expands Reliance Retail’s presence in the beauty and personal care category and gives it full ownership of Anomaly’s intellectual property and digital ecosystem. The company said it plans to scale the brand through its retail network and digital platforms, including Tira.
Founded in 2021, Anomaly is positioned as a clean, vegan haircare brand at an accessible price point. It has built distribution across several international markets since its launch.

Ambani said the acquisition would add to the company’s portfolio of high-growth beauty brands. “Bringing Anomaly into our portfolio marks a strategic step in expanding our basket of new-age, high-growth beauty brands,” she said. “Anomaly’s strong global positioning, clean formulation philosophy, and accessible pricing make it a compelling addition to our ecosystem.”
She added that the company sees “immense potential” in working with Chopra Jonas to expand the brand in India while continuing to grow internationally.
Reliance Retail said India will be a priority market, with a focus on product innovation tailored to local hair and scalp needs. The company also plans to expand Anomaly’s presence in North America, the United Kingdom and the Middle East.
Chopra Jonas will continue with the brand as creative director, overseeing product development and brand direction. “This is a defining moment for Anomaly,” she said. “What began as a deeply personal journey has grown into a brand with real purpose and global ambition, and Reliance Retail’s acquisition marks an exciting new chapter.”
She said the partnership would help expand the brand’s reach. “Their scale, retail expertise, and commitment to innovation will allow us to bring Anomaly to far more consumers in India and around the world,” she said.
The acquisition reflects Reliance Retail’s strategy of expanding its beauty portfolio by building and scaling consumer brands in India and overseas.
