Prabhu Deva to headline India Fest 2026 in Illinois
The festival will feature a patriotic parade, flag hoisting, cultural performances, and community service initiatives.

Indian actor, choreographer, and dancer Prabhu Deva will headline India Fest 2026, a large-scale Indian American community celebration scheduled for Aug. 15 at the National India Hub in Schaumburg, Illinois.
The day-long event will commemorate India's 80th Independence Day alongside America's 250th anniversary, bringing together more than 100 community organizations for what organizers describe as one of the country's largest Indian American Independence Day celebrations.

Joining Prabhu Deva as grand marshals will be retired Lt. Gen. K.J.S. "Tiny" Dhillon and Chitra Tripathi, vice president of ABP News. Organizers said several elected officials are also expected to participate in the celebration.
The event will begin with a flag-hoisting ceremony, followed by a patriotic parade featuring participating community organizations. The event lineup also includes a community mela, health fair, blood drive, games and dance competitions, cultural performances, and a live music concert.
The National India Hub, founded during the COVID-19 pandemic, has evolved into a hub for cultural, educational, healthcare, and community service programs, with a mission of uniting Indian Americans through civic engagement and social initiatives.
According to the organization, the Schaumburg campus serves as a year-round venue for health clinics, youth and senior programs, cultural activities, business networking, and educational events.
The center also hosts major community observances, including this year's International Day of Yoga celebration, organized in partnership with the Consulate General of India in Chicago, which drew nearly 400 participants.
India Fest has become one of the National India Hub's signature annual events, reflecting the growing visibility of the Indian American community in the Midwest. Organizers said this year's edition aims to celebrate both India's independence milestone and the United States' semiquincentennial through cultural programming, civic engagement, and community service.
