This story isn't mine alone. It belongs to every working family in Gwinnett. It belongs to every public school kid in Norcross and Duluth who dares to dream bigger, every small business owner in Peachtree Corners, and every member of this community that… pic.twitter.com/qrfEmWg9pi
“I'm Jyot Singh and I was raised right here in Gwinnett by immigrant parents who believed in hard work and opportunity.I know how rising costs are squeezing Georgia families because they're squeezing mine too,” he says in the ad.
Outlining his priorities, Singh says he is running “to fight for everyone who hustles every day and still struggles to get by,” emphasizing the need for Medicaid expansion, lower healthcare premiums and reduced household expenses.
“If we fight together, we can expand Medicaid and lower health care premiums, we can cut grocery prices and energy bills, and we can build a Georgia where everyone can thrive,” Singh says.
In a post announcing the launch, Singh described the ad as a reflection of the district he is seeking to represent.
“This story isn't mine alone. It belongs to every working family in Gwinnett. It belongs to every public school kid in Norcross and Duluth who dares to dream bigger, every small business owner in Peachtree Corners, and every member of this community that wants a representative who never fails to show up for them,” he wrote.
He added that his campaign was powered by “a grassroots movement” calling for “bold, progressive leadership rooted right here in Gwinnett.”
The ad rollout comes as Singh’s campaign has increasingly highlighted endorsements from elected officials and progressive organizations.
Among the most prominent is U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, whose congressional district includes parts of Gwinnett. Johnson endorsed Singh last month, calling him “the proven and progressive fighter we need at this moment.” Johnson said he was looking for “a strong partner under the Gold Dome” to advocate for Gwinnett and families across the state.
Singh has also publicized the backing of U.S. Rep. Jonathan Jackson, who said in campaign material that Singh is “the type of generational candidate who will expand our coalition and help Democrats win up-and-down the ballot.”
In a separate post, Singh said Jackson’s endorsement was meaningful because of the congressman’s record on civil rights and democracy.
“He sees what I see: a Georgia that is ready for bold, progressive leadership,” Singh wrote.
Singh has also received the endorsement of the Georgia Working Families Party, which included him in a slate of 2026 primary endorsements for state legislative and local races announced in March. The organization said its endorsed candidates were chosen as part of an effort to support candidates focused on issues including affordable healthcare, housing, wages and protections for immigrant communities.
In his post on the endorsement, Singh tied the backing to his personal and economic message.
“I grew up watching my parents work long hours just to keep our family afloat,” he wrote. “Fighting for working people has never been abstract to me.”
Singh is running in the Democratic primary for House District 97, an open-seat contest in a part of Gwinnett County, one of Georgia’s most closely watched and politically competitive suburban counties.
The Democratic primary for Georgia House District 97 will be held on May 19.
