Indiaspora, in collaboration with the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, will host a virtual event on the future of India-Canada ties on April 1.

The event titled “Canada and India: The Road Ahead” follows closely after Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's official visit to India from Feb. 27 to March 2, his first since taking office, and the recent restoration of high commissioners in both capitals.

The event announcement on X emphasized the positive shift, stating, “With the restoration of High Commissioners and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's landmark visit to India signaling renewed purpose, the Canada-India relationship is entering a new chapter, and the direction is clear.”

The event will feature a panel comprising Nadir Patel, former High Commissioner of Canada to India; Vina Nadjibulla, vice president of research and strategy at the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada; and Goldy Hyder, president and CEO of the Business Council of Canada. The session will be chaired by Sanjeev Joshipura, executive director of Indiaspora.

Organizers stated that the speakers “will examine what this crucial moment means for trade, investment, and the Indo-Pacific, and for those who call both home.”

The conversation is positioned as a timely platform for diaspora communities, business leaders, and policy observers to assess emerging opportunities in economic cooperation and regional strategy.

The event will take place from 8 PM to 9 PM EST (5 PM to 6 PM PST). Registration remains open via the Zoom link.
