According to investigators from the Vice and Human Trafficking Unit, police were alerted in April to a female victim who was allegedly being trafficked within the sex industry.
Police allege that between October 2025 and February 2026, the accused manipulated the woman into working in the sex trade before taking control of aspects of her life. Investigators further allege that he created advertisements, arranged clients, and financially benefitted from the victim’s exploitation.
Jangra was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton, police said.
The arrest comes amid heightened scrutiny of criminal investigations involving some Indian-origin individuals in Canada. On May 4, the Surrey Police Service said an Indian-origin man suspected of involvement in extortion-related criminal activity had been deported from Canada following an immigration investigation.
